Airbnb collects and remits Sales Tax in all counties.
Airbnb collects and remits Tourist Tax in Polk, Orange, Lake, and some other counties.
In counties where Airbnb does not collect and remit the Tourist Tax, you can configure Airbnb listings to charge an extra fee and pass that amount on to you so that you can pay the Tourist Tax to the county on behalf of the owner.
To identify if Airbnb is collecting and remitting the Tourist Tax, open your listing on Airbnb and click "Settings".
Then click "Taxes" and and find the "Local taxes collected and remitted by Airbnb" section.
If you see 2 items, as in the image bellow, it means only Sales Tax is collected and remitted by Airbnb.
If you see 3 items, as in the image bellow, it means both Sales and Tourist Taxes are collected and remitted by Airbnb.
To configure the listing on Airbnb to charge an extra fee where the platform does not collect Tourist tax, open the listing, go to Settings > Taxes, and click "Add a tax".
Select the "Tourist tax" in the "Tax type" field.
Then choose "Percentage per booking" in the "Type of charge" field, and inform the correct percentage according to the county.
Fill in other fields like Business tax ID, and then hit "Save" at the bottom of the page.
